St. Johns Bridge, Portland Oregon

The purpose of this $37 million ODOT project is to restore and rehabilitate the 1,168 meter (3,832 foot) long bridge, crossing the Willamette River, northwest of Portland.  The major work activities include replacing the deck, replacing the sidewalk, refurbish the railing, replace deck joints, and replace frozen bearings.  In addition, the project will replace the electrical system and roadway lighting with more historically correct lighting, replace the deck drainage system, waterproof the main cables, replace damage suspender cables, and paint the structure from bent 10 to 16.
